Canadian cloth patch
Attached is a picture of an obviously Canadian patch (please ignore the US 50th Arm'd Div patch also shown) which I have been offered as a trade. It is one I have not seen illustrated before and have no knowledge of. Can any of our Canadian members confirm that it is military, and, if so, who wore / wears it, please? I would be grateful for any info.

It's the post-1964 Maple Leaf. I don't remember seeing this before but I will leave it to someone else to provide an identification rather than speculate.

I think this is the badge for the Physical Training Staff, to be worn on a sport clothing.

Bill A - as you say that it comes in two sizes, can you tell me what each of the dimensions are, please. I don't yet have the patch so cannot advise which version it is. however, it would be useful to know what the two sizes are. I assume by headress, you would be referring to the smaller version being worn on a beret as a cloth cap badge? Also, as you say it was also worn on the tunic, would that be as an arm patch?

Hi badger, Here is an image of the patch on an official issue ball cap. This was part of the uniform for the PTI in the CF. The patch measures 8.5 cm extreme width and 8.5 cm extreme height.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for posting the picture of the patch on a ball cap, and for giving the measurements. That is exactly the size of the patch, which I now have, so I can now annotate it accordingly. I am as usual, most grateful for the help.

In the CF, the actual occupations in the Physical Education and Recreation Branch were:
Physical Education and Recreation Officer Physical Education and Recreation Instructor - PERI The patches were worn on the track suit jacket by Physical Education and Recreation Personnel. Phil
