I quite agree, well pointed out.

I would suggest this Cap Motto looks, in my experience, like a typical cast 'theatre made' badge, and was mostly likely made in India during one of the 17L postings there.
However, dating it exactly is not feasible. I think it may be silver, sometimes they are, but low grade. I like the loop fixings,again they are typical of this type of badge, and add weight to its validity.

All in all, an interesting item despite it being a copy, IMO there's a strong possibility its contemporary with the Regiments service. I don't think I'd consign it to the rubbish box just yet.

As to the concern of the fact that it was found in Sweden! surely that really has no bearing regarding its validity, as all manner of militaria has turned up in seemingly the most bazaar places around the world throughout history.

Nah, I meant the odds will be against it being a genuine local made if it was made by the locals in northern Sweden.
I tend to stick dates of aquisition and sometimes place aquired in the event a badge is a duff one and it helps put a "fake example produced as early as xxxx" tag on it.
