Default Welsh Regiment South Africa scroll cap badge.

Morning.

For those interested thought would show image of the rarest Welsh Reg cap badge (also a rare image of it being worn).

Very nice and most unusual to see a Cabinet Photograph post 1908.

Thanks Jonathan, I've never seen a photo of this badge before. As you know I have the RWF one with the SA scroll and a photo of it being worn but not this one.

Look also at the size of the collar badges and manner of wear on his early OSD tunic. Were those collar badges the same as the regulars at that time?

Yes, same size as the cap badge. You see more of these with lugs on, which were for the collars, than you do with blades which were for the caps.

CB.

I’ll dig those actual collars out and get them scanned on over the weekend.

Good morning all.

As said have now copied up the collars (the T's are in the draws some where) in the photo and the badge and the hat from which it came along with close up of buttons.

So all I need now is the OSD and or's versions.
