Come on guys, there is no way to confirm anything on this get up from just this photo. Chance of it being genuine is virtually nil.

According to the poster on the other forum, the asking price was $6,000. If legit, I would have been willing to pay that, but it would need to have rock solid provenance.

At this point, I would be happy to just be able to buy a pair of original LRDG shoulder insignia.
$6000
I too highly doubt that it is legit, the brass pocket buttons, the 8th Army insignia, the positioning of the wings, I believe are warning signs of a very bad buy.

I followed this post on Facebook and it was easier to see better pictures.
In a nutshell though- for $6K one needs provenance full stop IMO

I just find the military BEM/OBE ribbon a bit unusual on a WW2 2nd Lieutenant but then, that's just me.

Plus the "8" representing the "8th Army" bar was worn on the Africa Star and not the Defence Medal!!

Can any of you LRDG experts confirm if a Rhodesian Lieutenant made an "operational" parachute drop in LRDG history?

The brass buttons look like they have a Light Infantry horn on them?
I'm no expert but the whole thing looks put together, none of it has aged the same, $6000, fool indeed!

Jonathan Pittaway said that no Rhodesian Officer got a MBE/OBE in North Africa.
