Default 20th Hussars

Hi All,

just looking for some help on this 20th Hussars badge. Recently purchased here. I am not questioning authenticity, just trying to properly identify the badge. It has a bronze finish with blades, but it is not constructed as an OSD badge which I thought it was. It is of fairly thin gauge metal rather than solid and chunky normal OSD types.Any advice welcome.

Cheers, Mark

Sorry but the X-O-X has a very thin tight hand '-' compared to the left. This is not a good sign.

I would expect to see the badge die-cast.

You do, on occasion, encounter rather crude die struck OSD badges that are completely original, but, I would always say that they are best avoided, just from the photographs I would not want that badge.

I myself have never seen a 20H OSD die struck, but as Frank mentioned, OSD die struck badges do exist, some very nice actually.
I have this early cast 20H collar, lugged, which like all regiments that had the same cap and collars, were sometimes used on the cap anyway.
