Default Welsh Hospital button - Wales or South African Boer War?

Does anyone recognise this button?
It is brass, 24 mm.

I doubt that any hospital in Wales was ever named "Welsh Hospital". An internet search yields a "Welsh Hospital" in South Africa during the Boer War:
It is mentioned in this wikipedia article:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring..._Springfontein

This link has a brief history (South African Military History Society):
http://samilitaryhistory.org/vol123sw.html

And a link to Boer War hospitals in South Africa:
https://www.angloboerwar.com/other-i...=1&limitstart=

Its backmark is one of at least 7 anonymous designs. My code name is 'hammer key' and I think it is associated with Firmin.

It is Great War. The Welsh Hospital was raised by funds raised by, among others, the Lord Mayor of Cardiff from August 11th 1914. The hospital was sited on the Recreation Ground on the north side of the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, Hampshire. In 1915 the hospital was absorbed into the Army Medical Service.

You're welcome. I have one of these buttons with the backmark of FIRMIN & SONS Ld. LONDON.

Thank you Jonathan.

Here is the link to that thread:

My seller originally had a full set of buttons and the cap badge.
My button was the last one on offer.

Not strictly badges related but this is one of my more unusual Second Boer War medals to Civil OrderlyThomas Edgar Holding, Welsh Hospital. Shown together with a similar button to that at the start of the thread and a scarce survivor, an envelope from the Welsh Hospital sent to an address in St George Street, Capetown.
The medal roll only contains 44 names, 14 of which are Civil Orderlies. All medals received the clasps Cape Colony and Orange Free State. 24 medals have the additional clasp Transvaal.
Forgotten I’d already posted this in Brookies’ thread

The one (that I didn't win) sold for less at Bosleys.

BTW lovely button in original thread - was unaware of this.

That's about the same as Bosleys when you add in the commission. I went in large but it wasn't enough. Can't complain though, I've picked up some good stuff in the last couple of weeks.
