Default QVC Royal Navy button, from Malta

New to the collection is a 19.5 mm Royal Navy button (QVC, cabled rim, plain field, i.e. 1891-1902)
Backmark is Vincent Griscti, Malta

Does anyone know about this man?

Default Griscti Embroidery, Valletta Malta

I have some Sealed Pattern cards which show on the back that they have been sent to Griscti as late as 1969. Member GTB commented that "Grixti's Embroidery", was a now defunct Military tailor's establishment in Valletta, Malta. An alternative, Italianate spelling was also "Griscti".

Tim,
Thank you very much. It means the shop operated for at least 70 years.
best regards,

Just looked at the first card again and it shows sent to Griscti in 1978. There is also an Internet reference to Griscti Embroiderers producing ecclesiastical items.

Griscti's Embroiderers later changed name of business to The Beret & Cap Manufacturing Co. Malta Ltd, with logo BCM. I have several peaked caps (mainly Police) but also No1 SD. with these labels .

Further to above threads, am posting a scan of naval epaulettes showing the original premises address at Griscti's Outfitters, 302, Kingsway, Valetta, Malta. May be hard to read as gold on white
