Here is a ca. 1825 Royal Navy button with a greek key as an inner ornament.
It is 22.5 mm and has the backmark Superb Orange Gilt, H.T.T. The initials are for Thomas T. Hasluck |

snakekey backmark
<snakekey> backmark dies are identical to dies marked Buttons Limited, Birmingham as found on Lindsey FB & Ambulance buttons.
4ringskey and circleskey may be identical with 4ringskey a very light impression. update (21th december 2019): A die with backmark <snakekey>, presumed Buttons Limited, now found with a Gaunt, London backmark. It suggests Gaunt bought Buttons Ltd's button dies. sample button: East Riding of Yorkshire, (Button Lines 84, page 23 no. 61) used 1948-1974. Last edited by btns; 21-12-19 at 10:00 PM.
