Default unknown French made cap button, Morrocan?

This 15 mm chrome split pin button has the circle, grenade and anchor symbols of the tW&W brand on its back.
It also has an old fashioned ring of dots taken from 19th century French army officers' buttons.

Could it be Morroccan?
Who used it?
