Default Wits Rifles Plaid Brooch

Here's a Witwatersrand Rifles Plaid Brooch I picked up recently.

Wits Rifles Plaid Brooch 001.jpg

I've found a contact in Jo'burg that supplies tartan and was able to get this Douglas tartan backing, as well as various others.

On the subject of Plaid Brooches, I was looking at the Piper's Badges project, ( at the very top of the Forum page,) and Andrew, there's some very nice badges you've posted there. Im not a person who gives in to envy but I certainly wouldn't mind a few of those!!!!

Hi Iain, this Wits Rifles is very nice. I haven't managed to get one of these yet. I am glad that you enjoyed the few items on the project. Have fun. Andrew

Hi Andrew, Brian,

I am pleased with it although it is chrome and therefore relatively recent. It's surprising there aren't more around considering its strong affiliation with the Cameronians and it becoming essentially a SA Scottish regiment.

regards,

Iain
