Default Ciao from Italy!!

Hello everyone from Italy !!
My name is Massimo and I have been collecting Italian militaria from the mid-1800s to the middle of the last century for several decades.
I'm admin of an Italian militaria forum.
Although my theme is well defined, I have always greatly appreciated the British militaria which for elegance, tradition and charm has very few equals in Europe.
So recently I started collecting even some uniforms and some British hats, WW2 period and immediately after.
I hope to find the answers to the many questions I need to ask you here!
Thank you for accepting me and see you soon!
Massimo.

Welcome Massimo. I'm sure this Forum will be able to help you, just as they help other members.
As a collector of cloth Formation and Unit badges worldwide, I hope that you and your Forum may be able to answer some questions on Italian insignia in the future.

Welcome to the forum.
Does your interest include Italian military buttons?
If so, do you know what this is?
backmark is "G. Frelli, Roma"
It is pewter, 24 mm and once piece including shank.

Thank you all for the nice and warm welcome !!
For what my chances are I will try to help you in your research on Italian material. If I am not able, I will direct you to more competent people in my forum (if it is allowed to report other forums on B & C-MBF).
Thank you, see you soon and excuse me immediately for my very bad English!!! Massimo

This is probably a non-military button.
Generally the military buttons show (like the British ones) the frieze of the Department of belonging (Infantry, Artillery, etc.) or the numbers of the Regiment.
Many pamilitary groups of civil origin (City Guards, field guards, forest guards, etc. and many civic bands, have uniforms similar to military ones, with simplified buttons in the graphics.
Your button does not possess any of the typical elements of military departments and it is therefore very difficult to arrive at a secure identification.

Hello, I live near Pisa but I am originally from southern Italy.
Of course I know the town of Palmanova, even though I've never been there. The whole region of Friuli was subjected to massive militarization after WW2 due to political tensions with neighboring Yugoslavia and then between the two blocs, NATO and the Warsaw Pact.
I served as an Officier first in Rome and then in Reggio Calabria. Now I'm a lieutenant on leave but still subject to call-up (Medical Corps - Logistics Service).
