Default RAF jacket

Good afternoon,

a French collector has found this jacket. He would like to know the period and if it is possible to find some informations about its former owner

Thank you

It is definitely pre 1947 as it has four brass buttons on the front. The label seems to say 1944 and was made for him at an earlier rank of Flying Officer (Lieutenent). It is presently ranked as Flight Lieutenant (Captain). The medal ribbons are: Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC), the 1939-45 Star, the France & Germany Star and the Defence Medal.
I think your man's details can be found at the following link, but you have to pay to see it.

There was an officer of the name R Laws who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross during WWII - he may not, of course, be "your" man.
I don't know whether the campaign medal ribbons on the tunic would tally with whatever date the DFC was awarded and I don't know whether the rank insignia is correct.would

First Name:
R
Surname:
Laws
Information:
Officer of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
Rank:
War Substantive Flying Officer
Service:
Royal Air Force
Primary Unit:
General Duties Branch
Unit:
Navigators
Seniority Date:
02/04/1944

...... and I've just seen the post above (took me too long to sort out this post - a double tap of the same info).
