Default Para wings - any idea of date?

Hi,
I have this wings badge, can anybody give me a rough idea of how old these are?
Cheers,
Rick

Rick, it looks like a private purchase badge. Impossible to date unfortunately. It could have been issued anytime between the 40s to late 50s.

Hi,
many thanks, it is unusual that it doesn't match any wartime issue wings,

Rick

Not necessarily as many variants were issued for the private market.

I believe this is one of the new counterfeits that someone in the UK has been producing to fool collectors. This one in particular has been aged to deceive. I can't remember where I first saw them but they appeared in a grouping first which I copied for my reference (see photos). I then started to see them for sale out of the UK on US Ebay (see photos). One of the things that they all share is the thick tan colored backing material.

Here is one sewn on a piece of cloth where the name of the veteran is written on the reverse.

Rick my impression is that these wings are a modern replica. As Tonomachi shows there are many variations currently available on the market but there are certain details that just aren't right for me like the fat shroud lines and dirty appearance but lacking any sign of wear.

The thick shroud lines look wrong, so a copy as already stated

Default 1953 post war wings-opinions

Hi guys

I collect post 1953 para wings with angle feathers. Some of the wings Tonomachi has shown have similar traits to my 50's wings in embroidery and backing.

Im wondering if my 50's post war wings are the same remade?

cheers

Phill
