Default Lost my keyboard Pound sign

Every time I press my Shift key and press the '3/Pound sign' key I get this symbol #

When I press the '#/ wiggly line' key I get these two \ |

Whats going on?

Anyone help

It looks like you may have inadvertently change a keyboard setting Simon, I did something similar recently and it is worrying and annoying but simply fixed if you have a whizzkid at home as I do, I'll ask her to take a look and see if we can advise you unless someone beats us to it.

I think you have somehow switched to the American settings.

Try opening settings from your start menu, click on time and language, then region and language and ensure that country and region are set to United Kingdom.

And you have the UK keyboard selected, delete the US keyboard after
