Unusual RA stable belt
I have just been given a very small (28 inch long) RA stable belt, with an unusual buckle. Can anyone say who this was used by and when?

I don't know the answer but here are two possible avenues (or dead ends)
1. It is cut down for a cadet and adapted locally 2. Grand-dad cut it down in his shed for grandson... |

Royal Field Artillery 1904-1923
Girdle. Webbing width 2¼ inches reinforced with leather backing, fastened with a two prong buckle on the inside and three small brass Olivettes and loops on the outside. Examples dated 1914 do not have the leather backing or buckle. Royal Artillery Band 1904-1951 Girdle. Webbing width 2¼ inches fastened with three small brass olivettes and loops. Examples dated 1914 do not have the leather backing or buckle. Royal Artillery Band 1955-1960 Girdle. Webbing width 2¼ inches, fastened by three small brass Olivettes and red cord loops. Me and a couple of others during the 1980s. Marc

Thanks Marc, I knew you’d have the answer. Must be the later band version, as no leather backing.
