Default RAF roundel with a twist??

Does anybody know this one? I can't sell it if I don't know what it is! It's a small lapel pin on a long stick pin. The logo is only about 18mm tall and enamelled. Is it a wing foil? A flame? I'm stumped, but then I know bugger all about air force stuff, or Navy stuff,,,,, or Army stuff I suppose.

Thanks,

Monkey.

Could it be a Festival of Britain commemorative badge?

The centre design is reminiscent of the Skylon a prominent feature at the festival.

It looks very much like the Total petrol logo from the 1950s and '60s.
