It looks naval but doesn't correspond to any of the current navy rank slides. It could be British customs. A Wikipedia search reveals that after the mid 1950's, Chief Preventative Officers wore three rings.

BTW the monarch's crown doesn't appear on most rank badges.

Genuine uniform buttons are to an organisation, not to a rank. |

Hello Didier
I don't think your button is military, even though the design does look rather like a naval rank insignia! I think it is either a "transportation" company button (as already mentioned, something like Sealink is a strong possibility) or it is a fashion button as used on jackets or blazers. Regards Roger |
