Default 57 Wildes Rifles

hi all
what are you thouhts of this badge?
came in with a bunch of other bits and pieces.
is it ok? when was it worn?
i intend moving this badge on once i find out a bit more about it

I cannot comment on the authenticity of your badge, but I can quote you the following from Reginald H. W. Cox's Military Badges of the British Empire.

57th Wilde's Rifles (Frontier Force). 1849.
Became the 4th Battalion (Wildes's) 13th Frontier Force Rifles in 1922. The badge at 2465 was in gilding metal, officers wearing the figures 57 in silver on a dark green boss.

The illustration at 2465 has the crown worn during the reign of King George Vth, a very different crown to the crown that your has.

i can see from the information provided that this is probably not a genuine badge. strange as it came with several other nice Indian items.

It looks reasonably well made but might be an item from M AZAM & Sons of Lahore, Pakistan.
