Default Any one know what this is??

Hi people, my guess and it is a guess.I think its a world war one cross given to soldiers.Any thoughts ??

I can't say what the origin of it is. It's a crucifix so therefore would not be Military in itself,although may be given by them to the individual soldier.

Charlie, I've seen a similar cross before. That one was an abstinence cross. The Soldier would promise to stop taking the demon drink. This was a victory against temptation and evil.

This may be one of those.

Personally I think that war would have made me want to drink more, not less!

These are curious items,Here is another that I saw on ebay this morning,I would say a shamrock on a cross ,not a celtic cross but something along the style of one. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Crucifix-Boer-War...1%7C240%3A1318 Maybe Tyneside can take a stab at it.

Boots and saddles it looks to me to be of german manufacture.A generic pin attachment of german badges.Very interesting thanks for finding that link.That's all i can say on this.Charlie
