Default Spot the badges

Hi all,

A typical camp scene - Terresholme, Morecambe Camp 1908 and just a single cap badge to be seen but maybe not - see what you can find being worn, cheers Dean

Badge on cap, shoulder title, sleeve grenades.
Waist belt with 7 or 8 badges on.
A stable Belt!
Leather waist belt with clasp.

One of the belt badges appears to be a cap of the 1st KDG, the rest collar badges. The Sergeant has small GM arm grenades that appear to be the same as worn on the shoulder straps.

Sergeant's cap badge could be Royal Engineers?

Royal Engineers cap badge, is it Edward VII?
Also black mourning button.
Looks like KDG as said, 1st Dragoons, perhaps 3rd Dragoon Guards on the end, Prince of Wales feathers?
Nice photo

As the photo is dated 1908 I agree with it being an Edward VII RE cap badge but the mourning buttons were a Great War thing. It does look like a black button though, but it's probably a trick of the light.

Or, being an Old Sweat, he never replaced his badge with the new issue.

As the photo apparently dates from 1908 the Edward VII cap badge would have been correct for the period.

The Sergeant’s shoulder title is I think a grenade over RE and EDVII RE cap badge. The badges on the OR’s hate belt are I think Black Watch collar, Lancashire Hussars, W. York’s or Leinster collar, possibly a Sphinx collar and a 3rd Dragoon Guards cap badge. I cannot make out the badge on the side cap sorry. Cheers Dean

It is a Black Watch collar badge. There is no Lancs. Hussars, but the 1KDG. The far right is a 3DG or 10H. The small POW plumes does look to be a W. Yorks or Leinster collar.
Looks to be a Royal Dragoons cap there too.
