Default The Brodie Helmet at Hohenzollern Redoubt

Read recently that the 6th Bn. Queen’s Royal West Surreys, first wore steel helmets at Hohenzollern Redoubt, in October 1915 (12th ‘Ace of Spades’ Div. sign painted in black, and the regimental badge painted on the front)*

I also read that the run of 4,400 short-lived Type A Brodie helmets, was made just prior to this in the same year, with the manufacture of the Type B not commencing until Oct 1915.

Would anyone know if the Queen’s wore the Type A, or the Type B, at Hohenzollern? If it was the Type B, they must still have been hot from the presses as they were placing them on their heads!

With thanks,

JT
