Guards signallers badges?
I cannot seem to find any photo of pre WW2 guards wearing the crossed signal flags trade badge on the full dress scarlet tunic.
Do I assume correctly that it was worn on the lower left arm by ORs and above the chevrons for a Sergeant as the line infantry? CB

Yes, to first question .... I have a 1908 CG LCpl with marksman, crossed flags above.
No reason either to doubt the assistant instructor signalling sergeant wearing the appointment badge over his chevrons. |

Thanks for confirming that. I too see no reason why a signalling Sergeant would not have the badge above the chevrons either, just have not seen a photo however.
