Griff

I am not doubting him but the evidence shows it was worn before 1961. You can disagree with it if you like but the War department records say otherwise.

let's leave it there.

The F&D Silver/gilt officers badges were a thing of myth for a long time...... but there they are in all their glory

* Now ....maybe..... one day we will see a "White on Black" Leicestershire Yeomanry shoulder title .... miracles do happen!

Gents, my examples for comparison, they are not often found, especially the collars. The blank slidered C&D I believe is suspect, despite it being of good quality manufacture.

sadly yes to the c&d yeo being a duffer, though makes a good gap filler until a real one surfaces

Could be a hard day on the wallet then.
I no longer collect anodised so thankfully no bidding wars. Of those on offer ,the larger one from West Wales was what i was missing. The others i had . Its the 1st time in a long while that they had some of the scarer anodised badges in a sale.
The F&D collars,i think somebody has found the box. Thats the 4th or 5th pair ive seen recently.

there was an original C & D for sale before xmas last year which sold for sensible money though I had none spare at the time and so I missed it, mind you, if I had bid it would have gone for more.

Which has me wondering what happened to this one? Which is an abused/abraded collar badge possibly worn in a beret or side hat?

Gentlemen

... please see here :- https://www.paoyeomanry.org.uk/DenbighYeo372.htm

The cap badge was never issued from HQ stores. (Confirmed, June 2021, by a Flint TA Store man that served in the late 1960s). The RA cap badge was worn.

The Prestatyn TA centre is still standing although not used by the TA, it has a tower at one end with a RA badge on one side and a REME badge on another.
