Rajputana Rifles post Partition Service Dress Tunic
I have recently purchased a Tailor Made Rajputana Rifles Major's Service Dress Tunic. Interesting features are the modified collar badges and RRif buttons, where the King's Crown has been replaced by two crosse katars, and the medal ribbons. That are quite an astonishing array: DSO, MC, MM and King Gerorge VI Coronation Medal. No campaign medals, so one would wonder whether this RRif major had earned so many gallantry distinctions. So a made up accoutrement? What's your advise, gents?

Very nice tunic but I would be suspicious of the medal ribbon bar, the ribbons look to be in very good, almost too good condition and the lack of any campaign ribbons just doesn't sit right. Researching an Officer to the Unit with that combination of Gallantry awards should be possible, if such an Officer existed.

I agree: the tunic, down to the latest detail (collar badges, plastic buttons, black lanyard) seems to be genuine, but for the medals ribbons. No campaign and no war medals.

I agree that the medal ribbon is spurious, unless of course, King George VIth's Coronation was such a rough house that military action was required to quell the insurrection.
