Default 134th Bn CEF variation?

Going through my Canadian items and referring to the Forum CEF project, I notice a difference in my 134th Bn badge. It has "waves" underneath the 'C, N and D' of 'CANADA'. 2 lugs and chocolate coloured back.
Badge formed part of a large collection and from a trusted source.
All comments welcome.

I would not really call that a variation, maybe just a die flaw.

Ok. My Ellis marked badge has the same flaw. As Ron says, I think that is a die issue. I will check some other 134th badges.

I am unsure that it is a flaw. The waves or 'undulations' appear to be purposely manufactured and are at set distances apart. Naturally, the back of badge shows the mirror die-strikings (front of badge convex waves, back of badge concave waves).

Definitely a die flaw - does not appear on all badges, nor on the badge approval drawings. Cheers, Ian.
