Default Crossed keys woven patch

I picked up a pair of woven crossed key patches which were identified as 5 Bde first pattern according to Maj Warings ID pamphlet. This pair is silk woven but the pamphlet only mentions patterns embroidered on felt and cotton. Is the pair I have a dud? Does anybody have a date of wear for them? If anybody could help, I would be most grateful.

Crossed keys on black is the formation sign of 2 Infantry Division
Silk woven 2 Division worn in the UK and British Army of the Rhine in the late 1950s to 1960s. In about 1970 when dpm combat kit was introduced an order was given that formation badges should no longer be worn, Of course there were always exceptions!

That would be 2 (UK) Division (now defunct) manufactured in a number of variations but not silk woven and worn only on one arm?

Simon,
Yes would be woven but with merrowed edges.

Default Thanks

Many thanks Gents. My dilemma is that Warings book mentions both the 2nd Div patch and a later similar crossed keys patch as 5 Bde first pattern. I have attached scans of all the ones I have in the collection for comparison. War time 2 Div first, then the woven type, then the 2005 types with merrowed edges.
