WAAF dog tag
Can anyone help with I.D.ing this dog tag? Strangely, it was in an airman's Service Book.
Fibre, marked '890696 / WAAF / C E /.BODFIELD SS'. reverse: 'DO NOT REMOVE'. Any assistance much appreciated GTB |

I'd like to add that the dogtag was included among a male LAC's service docs so possibly there may have been an attachment.
This serviceman served throughout the war from 1939 to 1945 as an armourer, proficiency 'superior', yet only awarded the Defence Medal. Would this mean that he served throughout the war in a safe location which didn't merit even the War Medal? GTB |
