Default Italian Badges

Hi Gents,

A couple of unusual Italian badges hoping that someone can give me info on them.
I am aware that one looks to be Carbinieri and the other "Infantry" but in white metal...........

Thanks

Kevin

Hi Kevin, silver was pre 1933, but it is not standard infantry. It has a chain across the base and the flaming bomb in the center. The chain appears on early motorised badges and the bomb with a tall flame was adopted by Dragoons post 1934, so at a guess pre 1933 motorised dragoons, but this is only a guess Italian insignia can get quite complexed during the inter war period, I have numerous variants for tanks during this period and I'm still not 100% about some of them, hope this helps and best wishes Mike P.S I put together the presumed 3rd tankie lot so I can send you a pic if you want.

Mike,

Thanks for your detailed assessment, I also posted them on The Wehrmacht Awards forum and a collector from Italy said they were inter war and thought they were both original, so result.
I would be delighted to see your 3RTR lot so yes send the pic.

Stay safe

Kevin
