Identification assistance please

Good evening.

Purchased at Stoneleigh:

It's a shade over 1" to to bottom and it passes the paper test for silver.

I have considered the possibility of it being a button hole/lapel badge/old comrades type badge, perhaps a private purchase, or even a sweetheart item.

However, I'd like to think it is some kind of head dress item........a cavalry tent cap badge maybe.

Any thoughts will be much appreciated.
