Default Another nelly out of the jungle !!!!!!!

Hi All,

Here is another variant of the 19th Hussar single scroll !!!!!!!!!!!. I have had this example in my collection for some time, which came from the Peter Bailey collection. The only other example of this badge was in the Walter Lambert collection. Looks like it had a Bz finish.

Hi Tony

I have seen a similar "cast" double scroll with a chinese eye'd elephant and odd looking..... I think there is one on ebay at the moment (as shown in F Wilkinson's book I think?). Your single scroll certainly looks unusual.

Smile 19th Nellie

From the appearance it looks like it could be an OSD left hand collar, does it have loops?

Hi Griff
I know there were very few of these made hence the rarity, so what are the chances of there being more than one striking of these? Yours is definitely a different striking to the one you say is good, for example the numeral '1' is different. I hope somebody who knows more can be more positive. Good luck.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex

If you look at the "1" in the back of the badges they are both the same The light direction in the photos is different....so it will cause a bit of shadow illusion.
