No pleasing some people Nothing like a bit of grime!...the blob appears to be silver solder! I think that I would probably have to vinegar dip it to get it any cleaner...something that I am loath to do until certain it is DHIY.

Ok.... compromise time..... how about a good clean of the area that has the faint "LH" in the back of the badge...... that at least would give me the maker of the KK1433 design (some close pics of the "LH" would be appreciated)

It might reveal LUDLOW or LUDSKI?

I have cleaned it a bit more and the faint LH has now disappeared
