Default Fantasy badge

not sure what this badge is, possibly a fantasy badge.
It appears to be using a Grenadier Guards cap Badge with an Irish fusiliers Eagle attached.
Any ideas
Thanks
Chris

No i dont think so, it has the number 8 below the eagle. I think some one has used a genuine RIF eagle.

Looks like an attempt to make a copy of The Irish Fusiliers of Canada badge worn in the 1920s-30s.

I have collar badges that were made with what I believe were 104th Westminster Fusiliers grenades with the overlays removed and the holes plugged. They have what appear to be the eagles from Irish Fusiliers buttons placed on the grenades.
I have wondered if badges and money were in such short supply that some creativity was needed to procure badges.
I have Seaforth Highlanders of Canada collar badges that were cast rather than die struck, and have seen another pair with provenance from an officer who served in the 1930s.

Phil. Can you post some pictures of the 104th grenades. With Irish Fusiliers eagle overlay. Sound interesting.

Thanks Phil. I've seen pictures of the wide grenade collars being worn. But the pictures were too indistinct, to make out any detail.
