Hi can someone tell me if this SAS beret is good or bad please

Looks like a perfectly good current issue beret, NSN CF 8405-99-974-3341, size 55.

Just an observation as I know next to nothing on special forces. But the motto looks like it may have dropped a stitch on the "D" and reads - "Who Cares Wins".

No offense intended here, just how it looks to me.

Current issue beret have the nomenclature that include Special Air Service.

At one time the labels were a little different to the one in the beret above, they changed over time and include the initials SAS and later the words Special Air Service. I have not studied the contract numbers so unable to give dates.

I am certain it is an A78/CLO...... which dates from the early/mid 60's until before 1980
