Default Port Line Cap Badge

Hi to all,
Does anyone know when Port Line started to wear the Naval crown on their cap badges?
Thanks
Barry

It is quite possible that the Naval crown started to be worn during WW1 when Port Line ships were used by the merchant Navy and this carried on during WW2 and on. I cannot confirm this.
There is a lot of information about the Port Line on Google but no mention of Uniforms etc....

Thanks for your thoughts.
My research shows that Port Line was established in 1937 from the old Commonwealth and Dominion Line. They used the old badge. At least in 1930 the badge is depicted without a crown (B A T card series Ship's Flags & Cap Badges).

My research is also asking when the Bibby Line got their crown. The original house flag was red, then in 1926 an armoured arm with dagger in yellow was added, but when was the crown added?

Thanks
Barry
