DEMS
Hi there,
A little display on DEMS. Thanks to Wooffy for having kindly pointed out to me the red on blue/black shoulder title, which just joined my little DEMS related items. I have other ones, but at the monent, due to covid-19 / teleworking, they are stored far from where I am. Note: wasn’t sure in what rubric to post this one. Finally opted for my preferred one (Navy). I am still on permanent search of ww2 DEMS, Royal & Commonwealth Navies, all allied free allied navies souvenirs, in particular personal papers, paybooks, id’s, amator photos/albums, etc ... Cheers, JD Last edited by Lemataf; 23-02-21 at 07:57 AM. |

Hi,
Wooffy, Alex: thank you for your replies. Wooffy: I personally had already read of the topics you listed above, but yes, one often forget to use the Search option of forum, when looking after information on a specific theme, so it is good refresher & to be able to link the topics between them, for later readers. Alex: no hurry of course, whenever you can. Cheers, JD |

Hi,
Just to share a few new DEMS related items found during the last couple of weeks. The paper lot is of different source than the worn AA maritime artillery silk badge, but IMO the owner of the papers could have worn the AA badge in ‘42 (not then changed to «*RA*» version). If someone could help me please at possibly identifying the enrollement unit, based on this gunner’s army number (1604963) indicated on the record book, I would be grateful. Last interesting detail: the owner of these papers, Frank Hardy, was assigned aboard SS Port Wyndham, in Sept ´42, at the time he got his New-York pass. Cheers, JD |

Hi,
A little update with the last arrived embroided version of the Maritime Anti-Aircraft Regiment badge (together with silk version already presented above). Just need now to find same both flavors with R A (embroided & silk) for later Maritime Royal Artillery regiments. If you have spare ones to let go (worn ones preferred), feel free to contact me. As a side historical note: both lie on a used red duster which is said to have served aboard an identified civilian ship, during Dynamo, Dunkirk evacuating operation. Flag made by J. Compton Son & Webb manufacturer, 1939. Cheers, JD Last edited by Lemataf; 12-01-22 at 11:58 AM. |

JD,
I believe the number is part of the 1920 block and is Royal Artillery (Field, Coastal & Anti-Aircraft) 721001 - 1842000 and 11000001 - 11500000. Kind regards, Amy |
