Default Civil Air Guard

Does anyone have a picture of a Civil Air Guard badge - indeed, did the Civil Air Guard have uniforms or badges? This organisation was formed around 1938 to encourage pilot training, and it was open to those attending courses in participating flying clubs such as the Witney & Oxford Aero Club.

No photo but according to IWM :

"'CAG' in blue enamel onto a chrome circular badge. A horse-shoe button hole is on the reverse for attachment."

"As a civil organisation, the uniform was a dark blue boiler suit, usually privately purchased, with badges supplied for distinction."

Collar Badge

"'CAG' in blue enamel between a pair of chrome wings. Pin and loop (minus clasp) on reverse for attachment."

Photos of different badges on Sally Bosley's website :

Default UK Civil Air Guard

The Civil Air Guard did indeed wear wings. I will be happy to send you images if you provide an email address.
