Default Falkland police

Hi, I've just got a Falkland Island Police badge, it is 70mm x 38mm and cast, is that correct? The shoulder titles that came with FIP are nicely struck with a stippled back. They came with a letter from the Falklands Govenors assistant dated 1992. Thanks in advance, Mike

Hi Mike

My FIP title looks like it has been diecast, rather than diestruck. I have the current chrome/enamel cap badge as per my album:

The previous ones have "FIP" in the centre - I'm sure if you show images someone will be able to check them out for you.

Best

Graham

Mike,

Yes, they sound okay. For a period following the liberation, the then FIP had their insignia made in India/Pakistan. That continued until the "Royal" title was granted when then had a new cap badge manufactured by Firmin. They at that time stopped using the shoulder titles.

See the image of the FIP insignia I have.

Dave.

Hi Dave, your "E" and titles are the ones, thank you for such a quick response. They certainly look like Indian manufacture, that's what worried me, thank you again, Mike PS for such a small police force there seems to be a lot of badges?

Mike,

Yes, they are the ones. Nothing wrong with them and as worn by the FIP.

Dave.
