Default REME silver badge opinions please

Opinions appreciated on this badge currently on ebay.

Marked SM 925 with the Birmingham assay office 'anchor.' Does anyone know who SM is? I have found this mark on the internet but it is on a 'shield' background not an oblong tablet, and no description as to the maker.
Original, modern copy? Opinions please. The vendor has two other badges on offer with the same marks.

Note too the item description on this badge and on some of the others
"a hall marked silver REME cap badge, the hallmarks are: SM 925 and an Anchor (the mark of the B,ham Assay office), this is not a WWII badge it has been struck later, it has been hallmarked to make sure it is silver"

The 925 accompanied by a makers mark & assay mark means Sterling Silver which is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by mass of silver. So no clue as to date.

I have a 1947 'Sua Tela Tonanti' RAOC Cap Badge simply marked SILVER which tests as such, but I suspect made much later!

isn't 925 generally considered continental silver? so perhaps it's foreign?
