Royal Army Chaplain's Dept Badges MC winner

The badges attached came with a small collection of badges including a metal indentity bracelet which shows they belonged to the Rec FJL MacLachlan, Chaplain to the Forces 4th Class, Church of Scotland. A little bit of digging showed that the Reverend won the MC and Bar whilst serving as Chaplain to a battalion of the Cameron Highlanders in Burma in 1945.

As well as several black metal curved "Chaplain" titles (not shown) there was the slip-on shown and the two unidentified cloth badges in RAChD colours, their use unknown.

Any thoughts on when and where worn - and even if they are RAChD would be welcome.

There is reference in the RAChD museum to the diamond shaped RAChD flash - specifically as a helmet badge I recall. There is also evidence to Chaplains taking the law into their own hands and designating themselves CHAPLAIN rather than a member of the RAChD. In this case the Chaplain to the SRY in 8 Armd Bde.

There's also the strictly unofficial title ROYAL ARMY CHAPLAINS worn by an Airborne padre.

Thanks to an article in an old copy of the Military Heraldry Society's Formation Sign the two cloth badges have now been identifed as RAChD pagri flashes.
