Default RM VR battledress tops

Here's some interesting battledress tops. One's an 1949 pattern battledress with parachute wings, major's crowns (KC), World War Two medal ribbons (including a MC) and a 43 Cdo red and gold lanyard, which would all fit with a veteran officer wearing the top post war. However the 'Royal Marines' (as opposed to 'Royal Marines Commando') shoulder titles with the 'VR' (Voluntary Reserve) tab (which were only issued 1950-66), point to a reservist serving in a non commando unit, which was perfectly possible in the 1950s.

The other one is also 1949 pattern with 'Royal Marine Commando' shoulder titles with the VR tab, (nothing unusual there), but with the 116 Inf Bde formation sign, which I thought was a wartime only badge.
