Default Not exactly badge related

Although off of the subject of badges, possibly of interest.

The attached picture of a tattoo my son has recently had completed. It features me on UN duty in Cyprus, him in Afghanistan and my Dad when he went off to boy service in the Navy (before going through the war on HMS Rodney - which is also detailed in the tattoo). Also there are poppies in remembrance of all fallen service personnel but particularly those from RM & RN, and swallows - which my Dad had tattoed on his hands.

Amazing what they can do with tattoos nowadays

Thanks for sharing Ray,

Astonishing quality work and certainly beats 'mom' and 'dad' on the knuckles..

Cheerio,

Roy

Hi Ray,
My Ex father in law R.V. Henry served on HMS Rodney as a gun aimer (X Gun turret). I'll be seeing him this Saturday at my daughters wedding!

Default Rodney

My Dad was on the pompous, John Faulkner and known as Jet.

Does your ex father in law have the Rodney book by Ballantyne?
I sent a couple of pictures to him and one at least features

Hi Ray,
I have no idea really as I haven't seen him in years. Just that my eldest daughter is getting married this Saturday and he will be there

I got him to write down his service about thirty years ago which I still have. He used to tell me of when he was on Rodney covering the seaward side of the commando raids on Norway and shooting 16" shells at german planes!!
Send me a PM with your email and I will send you a PDF of it.

Saw Vic on Saturday. Still with us, just! He had a funny turn during the meal and we had to get the paramedics in. He picked up and talked out on his own feet. He was fine yesterday so he'll be with us for a little while longer
