South Africa Arc Titles: RAF?
I have got in my collection a series of South Africa arc titles, two worsted KD canvas titles with red lettering (one squared, one rounded ends), a pair in worsted green cloth, red lettering, and a single white lettering "South Africa" on green cloth (squared ends). I assume they were to be worn by South Africa volunteers serving in either the British Army or - more likely - the RAF. Is there any evidence of this? Thank you for your kind help!

The red on tan titles could be worn by volunteers of all ranks serving in the RAF. I'd think the top one is a possible and maybe the next one.
The third looks to be Army, and I suspect the bottom two are post war. |

Dudley would be the best to answer this question. You have some great SA stuff, where do you find them? Brian |

years and years of purchases on internet, ebay and from private collectors... my interest is mainly historical and a private historical one, since the firts allied troops to enter my home town, Florence, were South Africans of the 6 SAAD and not very far from were I live now, in Monza, the 6th SAAD held their VE parade in May 1945... |

Hullo Gents
The red on khaki South Africa titles were worn by SA soldiers of the Signals Corps and Engineers attached to the British 8th Army in Italy. My late father ended the war as a WO2 in SA Corps of Signals and was attached to 5 Corps on the Adriatic coast with 8th Army and I have attached the cloth badges he wore, for interest. Have also attached a photo of him on a motor cycle while there. Kind regards Dudley |
