Default Some WW2 SAAF wings.

As promised sorry a little late.

Four of them are very close to 11,2 cm by 4 cm, the F.C. Gee wing (top right) is the smallest 10,5 by 3,7 cm. The larger one (bottom left) is 12,3 cm by 4,8 cm.

My favourite is the padded version, these seem to be scarcer than the others.

Hope this helps
Brian

Let us know when you are coming and if you are in the Durban area we can set up a meet at a local militaria shop and have a chat with a few like minded chaps.

Hi Jim

I have photo's of my Grandmothers brother Robert Whitelaw, who was an Air Gunner in WW2. He was a Warrant Officer Class 1. You can see there were 2 types of uniform that he wore. I don't know if you would class one as step outs and the other as a less formal uniform, or if they were different uniforms fro the different theaters of war (Ie Mediterranean and North African), or if they were a summer and winter dress.

Look forward to chatting as Mike said,

Jimmy

Two very interesting photos. The second clearly indicates the SAAF 2nd pattern AG wing, which was white, with a white wreath and red 'AG' lettering. Later, after the war, the 'AG' gave way to the dual language 'AG' over 'LK' (Lug Kannonier). Also, as a member of the SAAF he should have an eagle under his rank badge to differentiate him from an Army Warrant officer. The badge is an WO2 badge though, the WO1 wore a coat of arms.
