Hi Hagwalter,

Shouldn't badge No. 19 in the infantry section be labeled as the Dorset Regiment instead of Dorsetshire?
They were renamed 23 June 1951.

Rgds,

fougasse1940.

Hi Chris,
Here are 2 more badges for your web pages they are -
1.The Forester Brigade (all silver) J.R Gaunt B'ham
2. Lancastrian Volunteers? (with red rose) H.W Timings B'ham.

I am unsure wether the red rose badge was worn by the 1st or 2nd Lancastrian Vols or by the Lancastrian Brigade - I am sure someone in the forum will know.
Best Regards.
Colin

It looks like a homemade paint job which is what the QLR repeated. I don't think that it has any Bn distinction just some one being keen.

Hi Colin,

Are you able to confirm the red colour used here?

Is it an anodised colour or is it paint as Alan suggests?

Regards

Chris

Default red rose

Hi,
it probably is red paint - without me attacking it with paint stripper I can't be sure.
One question though, was the Loyal Regt badge done with red paint or was it factory anodised in red?

Ukbrits,
lovely badge mate.

Can anyone help with a couple of anodised enquiries. I have a silver and gold SAS A/A badge with lugs on the rear. The badge is very thin, a bit like some collars I've seen, but the lugs definately appear of UK manufacture. I am fully aware of the Reutler lug as I have a Rhodesian example in my collection and this is not one of those. The lugs appear much like you might find any example of a UK A/A badge. Could it possibly be Australian? I am having difficulties loading a picture and will try again later.

Also I have a Staffordshire Regt 'type' collar badge in A/A. Same general design as is normally seen in A/A (coiled rope, crown over the top with the small prince of wales plumes and scroll superimposed over the coiled rope in the middle). However this example has a much thicker rope leaving a small void, which is in silver, the crown is still gold and the plumes and scroll are chunkier and are inset into the thick rope. Any ideas? Again I'll try and post a picture later.

Thanks guys

Bess
