Default Hart's regiment militia

Trying to identify this badge.
It is 2 inches tall.
It looks like a Hertfordshire militia badge but it's not exactly the same.

Hi Lavd02
It’s a copy of a Hertfordshire Militia Glengarry badge , they had the “Harts” spelling, worn up to @1881

By copy, do you mean it's a repro or a fake ?

Hi
Not an original badge , Glengarry badges aren’t my main collecting area ( or knowledge of !)but I’m sure it’s a copy/fake/repro/ based on originals I've seen and the general look of yours just causes concerns, others more in the know than me on these will hopefully confirm.

Gerard

Greetings Lavdo.

I am also no expert in respect of Glengarry badges; however I do have some originals to units that I have an interest in.

Based on what I have learnt, I concur with Gerard on your item; the main reason being the quality of the strike and overall quality of the badge, especially the rear.

I also think, perhaps wrongly, that it is a copy of an Officer's badge.

Hopefully a Glengarry expert can assist further.

Regards.

Brian
