West Riding Home Guard question
Can anyone confirm for me which town or city was the home of the 55th Battalion of the West Riding of Yorkshire Home Guard please. I know it is listed in Len Whittaker's "Stand Down" but I rather stupidly lent my copy to a "friend" about 10 years since and have seen neither since !
Many thanks in advance Paul L |

Thanks Peter, makes sense, I bought a tatty old greatcoat close to that area with Lts rank, Home Guard titles and a pair of WR55 unit designations. Guess thatb they would be badges York & lancaster Regiment.

Hello Paul,
I have the next Holmes Chapel meeting down as the first Saturday in October. It says 20th October in the last Formation Sign newsletter, but I think that is a mistake. Peter Just checked in the April newsletter and it says Saturday 2nd October in that which I think is correct.
