Default Morrisons Academy OTC and CCF cap bagdes

Morrisons OTC had 2 cap badges. The first pattern was a round large badge worn on the Glengarry and the second pattern was worn on a dark blue Tam o shanter with a red pom-pom.

The ToS badge was smaller and featured the School crest. Made if nickel, die-struck and with brass lugs. The JTC and CCF continued to wear this design. Latterly the CCF commissioned Selcraft https://www.selcraft.com/morrisons-academy-cap-badge/ to make new ones.

There are 2 CCF types both made in a new-metal finish. One has the OTC initials and the later one has had them erased.

All 3 ToS examples are shown in the photos attached.

Is that scarring on the back of the badge in the first image to do with removal of a hackle fitting Alan?

I don't think so as there are no photos of the school wearing hackles.

I think it’s just the way it’s been cast/made.

Looks like the original had a vertical brooch fitting?

One of the die-struck white metal OTC badges with brass lugs went for £120 at Bosleys last auctions. An eye watering amount for a badge that was used from the 1930s onwards.

https://www.easyliveauction.com/cata...-only-lot-307/

Bosleys had one only 2 years ago with an estimate of £40-60.

The last 1st pattern one that I saw went for £40 but I was too late to get it.

A nice example of the CCF bonnet but with a modern cap badge still with the OTC on it.
