Default Dublin Fusiliers Band

Well thought to share what I found on Ebay, when in the hand so much comes clear!

Nice original badge (not worth a lot on it's own) but with Dublin Fusiliers scroll - well it becomes much more, as it now purports to be Dublin Fusiliers Band.

Except that is when you look at "Voids - Strings of Harp and the Oak leaves and Harp" well! for a hundred year badge the solder flux looks prestine and Shiney! (Bottom right between oak leaf and acorn you can see where I have pushed this out with a scriber) you can see it better on the gaps between Harp strings!

It does help that I did use Solder and Fluxes as an engineer so know what it looks like, badge will go back! but thought to share just what lengths people go to get that little bit of cash, if he had put badge into Hot water with a little bit of Fairey liquid (Yes I did just say that!) It makes the hard brittle flux fall away, may take a little brass wire brush to clean off residue but not much effort at all!

I would still have known though as Scroll lettering has rounded ends and no sloder holes to rear, but only because of what the Forum has pointed out to me in what! to look for, many thanks! Billy

Would love it to have been the real deal, but with the Flux - bit of a give-away!
