Buttons are connected to the Indian Princely States.

Quote:
After World War I, a badge for the kingdom seems to have been adopted. It is on the red ensign, adopted 2 August 1921, but only ratified in the thirties. In it some parts of the achievement of 1877 are rearranged.

The badge is parted per fess, in chief a lion couchant guardant lying before a castle on a mountainridge with a rising sun on the sinister, and in base a coast with three ships on the roads.

This badge was also used for the emblem of the Nawab and the emblem of state.

Edit : A post in the "Indian Badges" section will probaly bring more information.

I think it is Junagadh, but will check and confirm.

Very nice and very scarce ( although that doesn't necessarily translate into valuable ! ) - Definitely from a Princely State - the crest on the buttons is from Junagadh - although there is nothing similar in the section on Junagadh in the definitive work on the insignia of the Princely States - "The Maharajas' Paltans" - this in itself is not unusual as whilst the book may be the "definitive work" it's by no means fully comprehensive. Thanks for sharing. Tim

From the link I posted it appears that the emblem with the lion (as on the buttons) was "adopted" after WW1 .

The emblem with the crossed flags is dated (?) from 1940.

Quote:
Another emblem of Junagadh, dated 1940

Garland omitted but two flags added. For this flag two stripes of red and white and a green crescent-and-star seems probable.
