I like the post WWII to mid 1960's era wings and the use of parachute regiment cloth titles, used up to mid 50's , if anyone can give a date when the title was rescinded would be appreciated.

Also in referance to the printed patch here is an image "1949 Pattern British Parachute Regiment Battledress."

Is the one I posted a repilca or is it similar to the one on the BD?

cheers

Phill

Phill,
The Calico printers association was the sole producer of printed insignia for the British Army from 1942 up to the end of the 50s. From the various albums that have surfaced lately displaying the badges and patches printed by the Company, I believe only one pattern of printed Pegasus was made during and after the war. A lot of variant can be found with slightly different colour tone and fabric (https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=64777, https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=72788) but printing pattern is unique.
Regrettably, I don't think your Pegasus is authentic.
As for the maroon parachute regiment shoulder title, I believe it ceased to exist when battledress was no longer officially worn in the early 60s. I'm sure more knowledgeable collectors can add to this.

Thanks TC

Its goods to clear up legit v replica insignia in amongst the collection.
Again it would of been one of my first printed pegasus FS I brought and since then I have made no mistakes of adding more peggies, each one being cjeckd on BBF.

I do want to add late 1940's-1950's peggies to show the differance between WWII era and post war era.

Phill
